at the begin of doing programming

i tot algorithm is not that important at all

thus i never listen to the class

the work we had done are all the easy task

even it is no need the brain juice

after going to semester 2, we are truly go into deeper and deeper of programming

now i realize why we learn algorithm

we have to use it when we dun know how to program

like now, i apply a lot of algorithm design in my assignment

the picture is the algorithm that i had built

actually it just a mirror part of my assignment =x

but i use 3 paper for building up the concept

i regret why the time no listening to the lecturer...

so never ever tot the class is boring or useless

How i passed my Christmas eve ??

hmm of coz

to be a sibu citizen , we all will went to the Parkson ( the largest shopping complex in sibu)

to pass my Christmas eve! ~

what i had done there...

just normal, walking around the shopping complex and watch around and hunt for pretty girl

there was dancing competition held outside the shopping complex....

i was shocked to see the such type of competition held on my place

whatever

as my home town culture, whenever what big event was held, there was a fire cracker performing

why i said its a culture, cause it always held at same location. never change.

i stood just about 20 meters away of the fire cracker and saw.

this was the first time i stood on the nearest place to watch the fire crackers.

lolz.... isn't it sound dangerous?? but there are some more people stood nearer than us .

the fire cracker preform about 10 minutes... and my neck was almost broke because looking onto the sky without moving. =D

but it is fun.

when the time i reached home, it was almost 1a.m.

xD that is fun.. just wanna wish you all merry Christmas and happy new year.

i went to work at carrefour express ~ as stock counter!

Duration of my work was from 11p.m to 3 a.m

although duration is 4 hours, i earned rm200 =D

it make me had some assumption that the money is easy to earn.

anywhere the money i had earned was for i went to sunway lagoon tomorrow (16/12/2009)

maybe is god give the path of free ticket for me to enter the lagoon~~ or ~~

VB: Word Scramble using StrConv and StringBuilder

I had answered a fellow who wanted to know how you can write a word scramble in Visual Basic. For this problem, I will provide two examples, one in VB6, and the other in VB .Net. The VB6 version will simple take the string in a textbox and scramble the letters. The VB.Net version will take a string, separate each word, and scramble the words themselves. I thought this would be an interesting demonstration since working with character elements in VB strings has the tendency to be a bit of a pain. This will demonstrate using a character array to work with individual elements, using the StrConv function in VB6 to convert to a byte array, and using the StringBuilder class in VB.Net for more efficient string appends.

Below is the VB6 version 1:

The above is a fairly simple. Take two elements in an array, and swaps them. This is pretty much the same as the VB.Net version below with a few exceptions. Alternatively, we can use the StrConv function to eliminate having to go through each element in the string and assign it to the array. This method is demonstrated below:

The above code is much cleaner in my opinion. In the StrConv() function, notice the use of the parameter vbFromUnicode andvbUnicode. The reason for this is that VB uses Unicode strings. Had we just assigned b the value of s, we would have an array twice as large, and the scramble code would need to take into account the additional byte that Unicode characters contain, otherwise we would have some undefined results.

Below is the VB .Net version 1. I used the first algorithm from above as the model:

While the above code works, there are a few issues with it. First, just like in the VB6 version, the handling of individual characters is not clean. We can assign the string to an array of characters directly and be better off. Also, the use of inserts and removes for individual characters are ugly and inefficient. .Net strings are immutable, so for each insert and remove, a copy of the string is created, making things very slow. Fortunately .Net offers the StringBuilder class for doing just this sort of operation. Below is the modified .Net version taking advantage of the direct assignment to a character array and using the StringBuilder class.

Actually I fall in sick last week

before this i think i can recover it within one week...

but... i still sick..

and today morning (17/11/2009), i went to pharmacy and bought the medic @.@

i realize that KL visiting the doctor was so expensive.

the medic cost rm33. i think if i go visiting the doctor i sure pocket empty.

if my hometown. the medic + visit doctor just cost rm18. why i know so clearly! because i usual go visit my uncle =)

after the medic i feeling better now.

New Way to format my handphone is:-

Learning VB chapter 4 - Building Object

Now i had read until chapter 4

In this chapter i am quite blur about it

Actually i dun know what i had learn

But i would like to share some at here

In this chapter 4

it told us how to use building the class by self even it is not class in java

example the code we always use in VB.net are like .toUpperCase or .toLowerCase

the words behind the . we call it as class

it told us how to create our own class

the class that i learn that are separated into 2 parts

which are private and public

we can also define the class to read-only property or write-only property

the part that i doesn't understand is the difference of the private class and public class

the book say private is only for read, but i still not clear about the condition

whatever

i believe after i finish this book i will fully understand all the part

i had back to KL
i had went back to my hometown for celebrating my grandma's 90's birthday- not raya.
What was the feeling of going back to hometown since had more than 9 months didn't go back.
my answer is dun know. Because i didn't do anything.
Just eat and sleep. The first day i went back, i already gain more than 6kg.
i think you all can imagine how many things i had eaten.
This Friday i have to pass up second port folio which i haven't started any.

仙境-- 雲南東川紅土地

東川的紅土地是中國旅遊手冊中幾乎找不到的地方,就算有也是幾個字略過,

位於昆明的西南方,海拔 2600公尺的偏遠山區,交通不便及住宿條件有限因素下,一般

旅遊業是不會來的,因此是個較為冷門的景點,就連東川的當地人也不太清楚這個地方!

但只要看過紅土地照片的人無不為它的色彩鮮豔,豐富而吸引!彩繪大地般的美麗!

由於土壤富含氧化鐵等金屬元素,經過氧化慢慢沉積下來,而使得土地呈現出罕見的赤紅色,

這裡的山從底到上的土地只要能運用的全都開墾種植了農作物,造成水土保持不佳而土石流不斷,這是大自然的反撲

跟台灣一樣,所以這奇特景觀能維持多久不得而知.因此有退耕還林之說

東川紅土地是雲南紅土高原中最具迷人色彩的代表

《奇幻西游》游戏体验

不同于传统《西游记》的故事，于今日展开封测的《奇幻西游》，将带领玩家迎向另一段冒险：中土世界的邪恶势力魔罗天、白骨精与九尾妖狐，开启了混沌之门，逆转了时空；原本应该顺利取经回中土世界的三藏师徒，因为这个原因辗转流落于其中……。现在佛祖找到了救世的勇者，也就是玩家们！现在就前进花果山，找到那只该去取经的猴子，导引他向善，进而拯救世界吧！

◆三大门派选择

《奇幻西游》的人物有三大门派走向：仙族──重视法术攻击与恢复技能；人族──重视平衡性，法术与物理攻击都不偏废；魔族──特性比较极端，都属妨碍类型，偏狂战士型与状态技能为主。
人族仙族魔族

大家可以依个人喜好，选择适合自己的门派，不过建议玩家一开始可以从「人族－大唐官府（物理攻击）」、「魔族－魔王寨（狂战系）」、「仙族－菩提山（法术攻击）」这三个新手门派入门；如果玩家是与朋友一起进入游戏的话，则建议可以选择搭配性质的门派，如：魔王寨搭配五庄观、盘丝洞，大唐官府搭配方寸山、盘丝洞，菩提山搭配魔王寨、五庄观；类似这样的组合，可以克制敌方的攻击能力。

包括发型肤色等项目都可以调整好好打扮角色吧

◆天河之我的诞生

创立角色之后，将会诞生在天河之中，这天河就像天堂一样，是许多神仙居住的地方。在《奇幻西游》的故事中，因为玩家身处的世界是唐僧取回西经后的极乐天堂，所以神、魔、妖都非常合谐的共同生存，在此玩家也要学习一些基本的生活须知喔。

在天河玩家需要与如来佛、弥勒佛、二郎神，这三位天神打交道、学习相关的游戏知识；另外，玩家也必须第一次挑战未来要面对的魔罗天魔王……。
在出生的时候如来佛会告诉大家游戏的故事

◆新手初临花果山

花果山是玩家接触的第一个西游世界，一开始最好的方式就是接任务升级。建议先在花果村接取任务内容，看到头上有发亮卷轴的NPC，上前与他交谈即可接下任务。玩家也可以打开任务日志，点按icon按钮弹开任务一览介面，将滑鼠游标移至任务上就会显示接此任务需具备的等级限制、起始场景和人物；另外，只要按下任务介面中的「移动」钮，玩家角色就会自动前往任务需求的下一个地方喔。

在测试时有个有趣的操作技巧。首先玩家可以在游戏内接取任务，当任务完成后，利用快捷键的「8－返回门派」功能，就能回门派学习武功，再回到花果村，如此一来对于玩家的耗水，以及升级速度有很大的帮助。
顺着任务的指引就没错了有什么不懂的就问问土地公吧

◆「第七级的约定」幻兽系统

随着解任务的过程，很快就能达到Lv7的关卡。还记得玩家出生的时候，在天河曾与二郎神有7级的约定吗？二郎神在玩家成长后就会赠与礼物，其中之一就是「幻兽」，幻兽就像二郎神的哮天犬一样，是攻击敌人的重要帮手。

除了二郎神的赠与外，战斗时也有机会将幻兽的原型网罗至自己的队伍中（必须先将幻兽的血量降低至一半以下才有机会捕抓）。玩家最多可有5个幻兽的捕抓格，未来还可以透过强化、培植、繁殖增加幻兽的能力。
记得要随时喂食幻兽幻兽是战斗时的好帮手

◆使用月光宝盒──自动导航模式

7级之后，练到12级又是另一个重要的关卡，因为12级后玩家将可以获得游戏中的重要宝物──月光宝盒。月光宝盒据说是天地初开时，创世的神祇所制作出来的物品，它可以扭曲时间的运行，所以玩家在利用月光宝盒的时候就会像「命运好好玩」里面的遥控器一样，让角色进入「自动导航」的状态。在这个状态之下，玩家就可以不用一直操纵角色，甚至可以放着让他自动导航练功。
如果血量太低也可以设定月光宝盒自动喝水补血

◆宠物、生活系统初体验

除了战斗的幻兽之外，玩家也可以养养宠物。透过任务或与NPC购买的方式，玩家就可以入手第一只宠物，除了可以带着宠物到处溜达之外，宠物还可以在游戏中的采集场内采集生活用品资源（分采药、打猎、挖矿三种），所得的原料可供合成技能使用。

而合成技能可分为三类：巧匠、裁缝、方士，玩家只能选择其中一种学习。裁缝主要以制作强化人物能力的各式装备为主，包括帽子、衣服、护腕、鞋子和饰品等等；方士可以制作各种补充血量和法量的丹药，或是可镶嵌在装备上、让装备能力更提升的宝石；至于巧匠则是以制作幻兽装备为主，像是幻兽的兽盔、兽甲和饰品，都能再加强幻兽的战斗力。
宠物的种类相当多样记得帮它装备工具才能开始采集喔

i had plan to get a car for long time already, since i still using my parents money.
i have no right to force the to buy a car for me
cause the time i choose to come to KL i had no right to tell my parents that i want to get a car in KL
and now, i already get a job. dont know consider as a stable job or not. salary 1100 per month.
but for dinner and lunch, i already ate half of it.

Yesterday, i went to produa shop and look for a car
i am looking for viva.
the price of viva is around RM28,xxx to RM3x,xxx
initial payment was 10% of the car price.
3 type of interest for me to choose. 3.5%, 3.75% and 3.9%
3.5% is finish loan in 5 years. one month had to pay RM5xx-RM6xx
3.75% is finish loan in 7 years. one month had to pay RM3xx-RM4xx
3.9% is finish loan in 9 years. one month had to pay RM3xx

another car that i had looked was kancil
the cheapest car in Malaysia
cost around RM24x,xxx
same as viva. 3 type of loan.
5 years payment with RM4xx
9 years payment with RM3xx

deciding which car to choose.
but second hand car was cost RM6,xxx to RM9,xxx
i am thinking why second hand car are so cheap.
mostly i will buy a second hand car.

很贴切的考验

这次考验形容的非常的贴切。非常之准确。这种情况曾经发生在我就读着中四以及中五的时候。我母亲强逼我去读华语，但是我的自知之明告诉我宾不属于这科系的。结果在会考时考得一趟糊涂，拿了个c5，我最差的成绩。真是没脸见人啊-尤其是我的华语老师。还记得当时那成绩是看到他还要避开她，好像是避仇人似的。就觉得很对不起她的说。现在我挨到毕业了。可以和读华语一刀两段。要我读华语真是要我的命呐！就是我没那种天分。也可以说读华语很闷，引不起我对他的热情。所以地球爆炸了也不适合读华语。好贴切的形容。哈哈！

I got a job during APRIL-PIKON-PC-Fair. this is also my first part time job in KL
i was streamyx seller.
No base salary, but 150% commission and decrease by RM 75 per sale.
that my real income.
This job was so stress. when the day started, you had to bother about your sale. if no sale, we must take a large risk. by the way i made a lot of new friend in job environment.
still dun know the sale results. but group sale is announce. my team, adila team get the top 3 of the best sale. =DTomorow may get the result of personal sale. =D excited.

We had took over 2 hours to reach the gathering point
The reason that we took so long time to reach gathering point was because of bukit jalil was raining and we had to take care the person follow behind. moreover, 6pm was peak time for officer went back home. traffic jam of coz is the main reason lah.

Yesterday, i went to sungai besi... i was so curious about where is that place. Every time i sat LRT and went back, i will passby that station(Sungai Besi). the station between tasik selatan and bukit jalil. There is one chinese school asibe and there are alot of stall when i look through from LRT. Then, yesterday i decided to go to Sungai Besi with my friend, wx and xy. We decided to go there to have dinner, but after we walk around all the sungai besi, we realize that sungai besi is such a damn place... and i will never go to sungai besi anymore. I found that one stall of the bao which is sold by malay guy was giving out bad smell....(sour)......

There is certain reasonssssssss that i wont never go to sungai besi any more:

1) There is too many malay
2) The thing there was already become sour smell but they still selling it
3) There is too dirty!! Made my legs dirty also with i work over the sungai besi street
4) Security in LRT station is very sohai~~~~
5) There have no McDonal and KFC
6) There have no Starbucks and Old Town White Coffee
7) There is no any Chinese stall food~ i walk for about 1 km but i can't find any chinese food there
8) There is no Shopping mall~ just pasar malam

我们很常对自己的父母亲谈到“我要自由”，“你们侵犯了我的自由权”。但是你们知道自由的定义是什么么吗？今天我老师给了我一个功课关系到自由。我和我的朋友都很苦恼。应为我们不了解自由的定义。但经过今晚的搜索与了解。我了解了一些关于到自由的定义。我读了很多关于到自由的资料。但有一个贴解释自由解释得很有道理。所以我再此转贴到我自己的网上。

在人权意识高涨的今日，「自由」是每一个人追求的目标。人人讲求居住自由、婚姻自由、言论自由、通讯自由、新闻自由、学术自由、办学自由、信仰自由……，什么都讲自由。如何才是真正的自由？个人真正的自由，应该立足于「不妨害别人的自由」、「不侵犯别人的自由」，以及「不践踏别人的自由」。

基于此，我们由以下四点来看「自由」的真正意义：

第一、自由者道德之根本：我们要讲自由，先要以道德做为根本，凡是合乎道德的事情都可以做，才是真自由。如不合乎道德，对人有害的事，则应该再三考虑，不能因为一己的自由，而去侵犯别人、损害别人，甚至践踏别人。这是欠缺道德观念，是自私的，不是自由的。

第二、自由者正义之选择：要自由，必须要选择正义、公德、合理。正义、公德即是俗话说的「天理」，合乎大众的，就是在「天理」的范围之内。因为天理之内享有的自由，才是真正的自由。如果逆天悖理，那是伤天害理，不是自由。

第三、自由者法律之保障：自由必须合乎法律的规范，法律保障每个人的自由，保障大众的自由。要社会大众都能享有普遍的自由、免于恐惧的自由、安居乐业的自由，才能称得上是自由的社会，自由的人生。如果违法犯纪，或是钻法律漏洞，以图自己之方便，那是违反道德及法令，不是自由。

第四、自由者轨范之界限：自由要在道德的轨范之内，要在法律的限制之内，而不是漫无边际的为所欲为。法律限制是公德，良心轨范是私德，唯有在不逾越公、私两方面的轨范下，享有的自由，才是真正的自由。

在专制时代，有志气的人认为，自由比生命还可贵，喊出「不自由毋宁死」的口号，进而争取人民在政治上的自由。自由确实很可贵，但绝不能因一己的自由，而伤害到别人。因此，自由应该立基于道德、正义、法律、轨范之下，才是真正的自由。自由的真意有四点：

第一、自由者道德之根本，

第二、自由者正义之选择，

第三、自由者法律之保障，

第四、自由者轨范之界限。

尽管夜空的清澈度欠佳，但申城昨天黄昏还是如约呈现“夜空的微笑”——金星和木星有个“最亲密的约会”，一弯金黄色的月牙在不远处“静候”，彼此“相视而笑”。

即使身处市中心，很多市民仍在高楼的缝隙间欣赏到了这一特别版天象——有新月“见证”的“金星合木星”。有意思的是，星星和月亮的约会还惹来不少“美丽的误会”：上海UFO探索研究中心近日接到多起“关于在西南方向发现疑似UFO”的报告，其实都是正值明亮期的金星和木星。

“金木”相约黄昏

“ 月亮羞答答地走，终于走到了金星和木星身边，高傲的夜空露出了一个难得的微笑，年度压轴戏期待已久，终于隆重上演。上周连续踩了几天点，从浦东机场的‘飞机起飞＋磁悬浮＋车水马龙＋机场灯光’组合到东方明珠‘大珠小珠落月盘’，陆家嘴‘众楼皆抱金木月’，摄影构想一大堆，最后还是在临近办公室的小陆家嘴地区安营扎寨。上海近期的好天气给了我极大的信心，走出门才发现前几天清澈的天空哪里去了。咔嚓了几张，西方天空已被灯光映得通红，可怜那金星木星‘哼哈二将’不得不垂头丧气地耷拉在月牙边上，倒是这弯月牙朦胧得美极了。夜空本该露出田亮般炯炯有神的咧嘴大笑，现在好嘛，变梁天了。”上海网上天文台天之文论坛观测摄影版版主郭纲，如是记录他的观后感和摄后感。

其实，金星和木星的“黄昏之约”已持续了多日。上月以来，每天傍晚五六点时，西南方向有两颗明亮的星星结伴亮相。其中更亮的是金星，稍暗一筹的是木星。昨天傍晚更是发生了“金星合木星”的天象。天象中的“合”，意思是视赤经相同，两者的距离也达到最近，就好比星空中“最亲密的约会”。

凑巧的是，昨天正逢农历初四，傍晚时分，距金星和木星不远处的西方天空，悬着一弯新月，开口正好对着金、木两星，仿佛一张笑脸。本市天文爱好者组织——启明星联盟前不久还在网上发起以这一天象为主题的全国天文爱好者诗情画意交流赛。

晚上8时20分许，“笑脸”才逐渐消失，不过随即就被网友们挂到了网络上。记者看到，不少网友的MSN和QQ头像成了“笑脸”。网友weiwei不但将头像改成了“双星拱月”，还在一旁的签名档里写道：“星星和月亮组成了这张笑脸，希望将来每天都能开开心心。”

UFO误会频生

不少网友对于“笑脸”上的这两颗“眼睛”议论纷纷同时，更有人大胆想像，“这不会是UFO吧？”

上海市UFO研究探索中心目击调查部副部长章云华告诉记者，其实，近期出现在上海等地上空的不是什么UFO，就是普通的星体——而且是我们非常熟悉的金星和木星。进入11月以来，日落时分，金星和木星均位于西南方天空，星等亮度均达到肉眼可见的负值。现在的金星和木星，是这一时节天空中最亮的两颗行星，乍一看，还确实有被当作神秘UFO的可能性。

New video card releases are bittersweet events for PC enthusiasts. The excitement created with the unveiling of new technology is often tempered with the sad realization that the all the existing video cards we currently have just became slightly less relevant. The pain is especially acute for the people who own the exact card model that has just been replaced, and this is the moment GeForce 8800 GTX owners have been dreading--the launch of the GeForce 9800 GTX.

The GeForce 9800 GTX's specifications are actually very similar to its GeForce 8-series counterpart. They both have 128 processing cores, but the GeForce 9800 GTX's are clocked at a higher 1.69GHz compared to 1.35GHz for the GeForce 8800 GTX. The 9800 GTX's core clock and memory speeds are also higher at 675MHz and 1.1GHz, respectively. The frequency increases will help offset a few sacrifices Nvidia made by reducing onboard memory to 512MB and switching to a smaller 256-bit memory interface. The new card also includes a molded plastic exterior that hides the internal printed circuit board.

Like other GeForce 9-series cards, the GeForce 9800 GTX offers full support for DirectX 10 and PCI Express 2.0. Board manufacturers, such as XFX, will also be happy to sell you two or three cards for 2-way and 3-way SLI. Power, of course, is always a concern in today's video cards where buyers have to make sure that their systems have enough power capacity and the right power connectors to support a new card. The GeForce 9800 GTX has two 6-pin power connectors, and Nvidia recommends a 450W power supply for single-card operation. Two cards in SLI bump the PSU rec up to 750W, and you're looking at 1kW for 3-way SLI. Our XFX GeForce 9800 GTX package included two 4-pin to 6-pin power adapters, so we only had to worry about the card's wattage requirement.

The card supports Nvidia's new energy-saving HybridPower feature that lets you switch between the card and onboard graphics, depending on the software application. HybridPower won't work with all integrated graphics--you'll need a motherboard with HybridPower-compatible graphics, such as those based on the nForce 780a chipset.

The GeForce 9800 GTX can accelerate high-definition video playback from Blu-ray, HD-DVD, and video files that use the associated HD compression formats. The card comes standard with a 7-pin analog out and two DVI connectors. The 7-pin connector can output S-Video natively and component using an included cable adapter. The card supports HDCP, but getting the card to output HDMI will take some extra effort. You'll need a separate certified DVI-to-HDMI adapter and hook up the system's sound to the GTX's SPDIF input for the audio feed. XFX went the extra mile by including the DVI-to-HDMI adapter and SPDIF cable in the box along with two analog DVI adapters.

We obtained a pair of GeForce 9800 GTX cards for single-card and dual-card SLI testing. We put the single GeForce 9800 GTX up against a GeForce 8800 GTX, an ATI Radeon HD 3780 X2, an ATI Radeon HD 3870, and a GeForce 8800 GT. We put our GeForce 9800 GTX SLI up against the GeForce 9800 GX2, the GeForce 8800 GTX SLI, and the GeForce 8800 GT SLI.

Function: The motherboard is a printed circuit board (PCB) that contains and controls the components that are responsible for processing data.

Description: The motherboard contains the CPU, memory, and basic controllers for the system. Motherboards are often sold with a CPU. The motherboard has a Real-time clock (RTC), ROM BIOS, CMOS RAM, RAM sockets, bus slots for attaching devices to a bus, CPU socket(s) or slot(s), cache RAM slot or sockets, jumpers, keyboard controller, interrupts, internal connectors, and external connectors.

The bus architecture and type of components on it determine a computers performance. The motherboard with its ribbon cables, power supply, CPU, and RAM is designated as a "bare bones" system.

Clock: The motherboard contains a systems clock to synchronize the operation of the bus and other components. Jumpers on the motherboard allow a user to set different clock rates to work with the CPU. Other jumpers control other components on the motherboard.

386 motherboards have an extra slot to add a math coprocessor (ALU - arithmetic and logic unit). 486's and Pentiums have a math coprocessor (ALU) already built into the chip.

Location: The motherboard is attached to the bottom of the case. In a tower or mini-tower, the motherboard is attached vertically to one side of the case.

Upgrading: "Remember, you must have a motherboard that will support your processor. Don't expect to buy a 486 motherboard and then put a Pentium processor on it. It won't work since the motherboard was not designed to handle any Pentium processors. If you look at the motherboard, see if there is a ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) socket. The socket is were you put your processor in. In the old days, you have to really press the processor into the socket with a lot of strength. It is pretty risky cause you might damage the motherboard if you press the processor with too much strength. With the ZIF socket, you just lift a handle, place the processor in, and pull the handle down to secure it. This way, no force was used to put the processor in (you just drop it into the socket), so you reduce the risk of damaging parts.

Just like processors, sockets come with different types - from Socket 1 to Socket 8. Each of them will only support certain processors. I.e.: Socket 5 will only support Pentium. Socket 7 will support 486 and Pentium. (Note: Socket 1 to 7 are for 386 to Pentium, Socket 8 only supports Pentium Pros.) Make sure the motherboard supports a wide range of processors. Some will only handle Pentium 66 to 100 MHz. Others will support Pentium 75 to 200 MHz. If it supports a wide range, you can upgrade your computer easily since it supports so much processors. If you plan to upgrade to a processor that was not supported by your motherboard, (let say you want to upgrade to a Pentium 166 MHz but your motherboard will only support up to Pentium 100 MHz) then you would have to change your motherboard too.

The MMX Pentium chips are a type of Pentium chip that have new commands in addition to the current Pentium chips. They contain new instructions that are specially written for multimedia functions. To use the MMX Pentium chips, the motherboard has to support it."

PLUG N' PLAY (PnP)

Plug-and-play is a system built into newer systems so that you can install devices built for it more easily. After installation of new hardware, all of the settings, like IRQ's and drivers, are taken care of on start-up. A PnP system scans the entire system for new hardware every time the system is booted. Windows 95 will detect the new hardware, adjust the settings, and install the drivers. It also determines what every device needs, and makes sure it gets it.

The Macintosh had PnP before the PC did. Not all systems can handle PnP. You must have

a PnP operating system, such as Windows 95. Previous versions of Windows can't do it.

Your hardware must be rated for PnP.

You need 32-bit drivers for the device...not to worry though...they come with it.

And lastly, your BIOS must be compliant with PnP.

Many call it "Plug and Pray", because sometimes it is not as easy at it seems. You may run into some gliches and have to troubleshoot.

Keyboard doesn’t work. The Power LED (light-emitting diodes) connector has five pins, the last two of which are a keyboard lock. You may have connected the Power LED wires to the wrong pins. The symptom is that the keyboard works to get into the CMOS, but not after the motherboard finishes the POST routines

CMOS Battery Check message appears during boot. Usually this means you need to go into the complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) setup, load the setup defaults, and then Save And Exit. (NOTE: See the main article for more information on how to do this.)

Boot Device Not Found message. This usually means you did not properly set up your hard drive or that your system is not detecting it. Make sure the Standard CMOS Setup has the hard drives set to Auto, that the cables are connected properly (note the location of Pin #1 at both ends), and that the hard drive is plugged into the power supply.

You hear a series of beeps from the PC speaker. If you hear a single long beep repeated every second, this probably means your motherboard isn’t detecting your memory. Remove the memory and reinstall it. Make sure to seat it securely.

You hear a single long beep, followed by three short chirps. This means the video card is not being detected. Remove the video card, reseat it, and try again.

ADDITIONAL NOTES TO LARGE PHOTOS ABOVE

TAG RAM: "In addition to the 256KB or 512KB of CPU Cache RAM on these modules, some modules also have what is know as TAG RAM on them.

This is a small additional RAM Module which is used by the CPU to keep track of from which segment of DRAM an instruction has been loaded into the Cache RAM. Normally, CPU Cache ram modules such as these have "single-tagged" TAG RAM, which allows use with up to 64MB of DRAM. If you use MORE THAN 64MB OF DRAM, YOU MUST SPECIFY A DIFFERENT TAG RAM SIZE!!!. With up to 128MB of DRAM, you MUST specify "Double TAG RAM".

If you do not have enough TAG RAM for the size of DRAM you use, the CPU goes ahead and thinks it has it anyway, and you WILL get bit-errors when the CPU reads the instructions from the DRAM into CPU Cache! This will make the system stop and "hang"!! You could also accidentially corrupt data in this way, as the CPU will be "tricked" into believing it is getting other instructions than the ones it was actually supposed to get!!!!!" For Pentium Pro and Pentium II microprocessors, the tag RAM is integrated in the chipset. Quote taken from http://www.inside-us.com/support/faqs/gcacheram.htm 1999

COASt Socket: A type of socket for Secondary Cache ram. Called Cache On A Stick: It is another popular design specification for cache modules. It resembles a SIMM but is a little shorter and plugs into a COAST socket, which is normally located close to the processor and resembles a PCI expansion slot. Remember for Pentium II's Cache is built into the chipset.

SCSI (Small Computer System Interface): An American National Standards Institute (ANSI) interface between the computer and peripheral controllers. SCSI excels at handling large hard disks and permits up to eight devices to be connected along a single bus provided by a SCSI connection. Also features in Narrow, Wide and UltraWide flavours.

USB (Universal Serial Bus): Intel's new standard for attaching peripherals to PCs. Designed for low to medium data throughput, it should remove the need to install many devices internally once it gains widespread acceptance.

USB is a Plug-and-Play interface that allows up to 127 peripherals to plug sequentially into a single external port, using just a single interrupt and port address

AGP: AGP also requires software support, including both the OS and graphics drivers. Windows 95 and NT4 can be modified to support AGP, but Windows 98 has built-in support. NT5 will have built-in support for AGP. Windows 95 users can get the Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2.1 or a patch program called USBSUPP.EXE. Your current Win95 PCI device driver will support AGP, but you will need to get DirectX5, which is the only version of DirectX to support DIME. You must make sure your video drivers include VGARTD.VXD as well. This is a virtual device driver that turns on the DIME feature.

Memory types

There are several different technologies when it comes to memory. Here is an overview of these technologies and what they mean to your computer.

ROM

This is read-only memory, memory that can only be read, but cannot be written to. ROM is used in situations where the data must be held permanently. This is due to the fact that it is non-volatile memory. This means the data is “hard-wired” into the ROM chip. You can store the chip forever and the data will always be there. Besides, the data is very secure. The BIOS is stored on ROM because the user cannot disrupt the information.

There are different types of ROM, too:
Programmable ROM(PROM). This is basically a blank ROM chip that can be written to, but only once. It is much like a CD-R drive that burns the data into the CD. Some companies use special machinery to write PROMs for special purposes.
Erasable Programmable ROM (EPROM). This is just like PROM, except that you can erase the ROM by shining a special ultra-violet light into a sensor atop the ROM chip for a certain amount of time. Doing this wipes the data out, allowing it to be rewritten.
Electrically Erasable Programmable ROM (EEPROM). Also called flash BIOS. This ROM can be rewritten through the use of a special software program. Flash BIOS operates this way, allowing users to upgrade their BIOS.

ROM is slower than RAM, which is why some try to shadow it to increase speed.

RAM

Random Access Memory (RAM) is what most of us think of when we hear the word memory associated with computers. It is volatile memory, meaning all data is lost when power is turned off. The RAM is used for temporary storage of program data, allowing performance to be optimum.

Like ROM, there are different types of RAM:

Static RAM (SRAM)

. This RAM will maintain it’s data as long as power is provided to the memory chips. It does not need to be re-written periodically. In fact, the only time the data on the memory is refreshed or changed is when an actual write command is executed. SRAM is very fast, but is much more expensive than DRAM. SRAM is often used as cache memory due to its speed.

There are a few types of SRAM:

Async SRAM

An older type of SRAM used in many PC’s for L2 cache. It is asynchronous, meaning that it works independently of the system clock. This means that the CPU found itself waiting for info from the L2 cache.
Sync SRAM. This type of SRAM is synchronous, meaning it is synchronized with the system clock. While this speeds it up, it makes it rather expensive at the same time.
Pipeline Burst SRAM. Commonly used. SRAM requests are pipelined, meaning larger packets of data re sent to the memory at once, and acted on very quickly. This breed of SRAM can operate at bus speeds higher than 66MHz, so is often used.

Dynamic RAM (DRAM)

DRAM, unlike SRAM, must be continually re-written in order for it to maintain its data. This is done by placing the memory on a refresh circuit that re-writes the data several hundred time per second. DRAM is used for most system memory because it is cheap and small.

There are several types of DRAM, complicating the memory scene even more:

Fast Page Mode DRAM (FPM DRAM)

FPM DRAM is only slightly faster than regular DRAM. Before there was EDO RAM, FPM RAM was the main type used in PC’s. It is pretty slow stuff, with an access time of 120 ns. It was eventually tweaked to 60 ns, but FPM was still too slow to work on the 66MHz system bus. For this reason, FPM RAM was replaced by EDO RAM. FPM RAM is not much used today due to its slow speed, but is almost universally supported.

Extended Data Out DRAM (EDO DRAM)

EDO memory incorporates yet another tweak in the method of access. It allows one access to begin while another is being completed. While this might sound ingenious, the performance increase over FPM DRAM is only around 30%. EDO DRAM must be properly supported by the chipset. EDO RAM comes on a SIMM. EDO RAM cannot operate on a bus speed faster than 66MHz, so, with the increasing use of higher bus speeds, EDO RAM has taken the path of FPM RAM.

Burst EDO DRAM (BEDO DRAM)

Original EDO RAM was too slow for the newer systems coming out at the time. Therefore, a new method of memory access had to be developed to speed up the memory. Bursting was the method devised. This means that larger blocks of data were sent to the memory at a time, and each “block” of data not only carried the memory address of the immediate page, but info on the next several pages. Therefore, the next few accesses would not experience any delays due to the preceding memory requests. This technology increases EDO RAM speed up to around 10 ns, but it did not give it the ability to operate stably at bus speeds over 66MHz. BEDO RAM was an effort to make EDO RAM compete with SDRAM.

Synchronous DRAM (SDRAM)

SDRAM became the new standard after EDO bit the dust. Its speed is synchronous, meaning that it is directly dependent on the clock speed of the entire system. Standard SDRAM can handle higher bus speeds. In theory, it could operate at up to 100MHz, although it was found that many other variable factors went into whether or not it could stabily do so. The actual speed capacity of the module depended on the actual memory chips as well as design factors in the memory PCB itself.

To get around the variability, Intel created the PC100 standard. The PC100 standard ensures compatibility of SDRAM subsystems with Intel’s 100MHz FSB processors. The new design, production, and test requirements created challenges for semiconductor companies and memory module suppliers. Each PC100 SDRAM module required key attributes to guarantee full compliance, such as the use of 8ns DRAM components (chips) that are capable of operating at 125MHz. This provided a margin of safety in ensuring that that the memory module could run at PC100 speeds. Additionally, SDRAM chips must be used in conjunction with a correctly programmed EEPROM on a properly designed printed circuit board. The shorter the distance the signal needs to travel, the faster it runs. For this reason, there were additional layers of internal circuitry on PC100 modules.

As PC speeds increased, the same problem was encountered for the 133 MHz bus, so the PC133 standard was developed.

RAMBus DRAM (RDRAM)

Developed by Rambus, Inc. and endorsed by Intel as the chosen successor to SDRAM. RDRAM narrows the memory bus to 16-bit and runs at up to 800 MHz. Since this narrow bus takes up less space on the board, systems can get more speed by running multiple channels in parallel. Despite the speed, RDRAM has had a tough time taking off in the market because of compatibility and timing issues. Heat is also an issue, but RDRAM has heatsinks to dissipate this. Cost is a major issue with RDRAM, with manufacturers needing to make major facility changes to make it and the product cost to consumers being too high for people to swallow.

DDR-SDRAM (DDR)

This type of memory is the natural evolution from SDRAM and most manufacturers prefer this to Rambus because not much needs to be changed to make it. Also, memory makers are free to manufacture it because it is an open standard, whereas they would have to pay license fees to Rambus, Inc. in order make RDRAM. DDR stands for Double Data Rate. DDR shuffles data over the bus over both the rise and fall of the clock cycle, effectively doubling the speed over that of standard SDRAM. Due to its advantages over RDRAM, DDR-SDRAM support was implemented by almost all major chipset manufacturers, and quickly became the new memory standard for the majority of PC’s. Speeds ranged from 100mhz DDR (with operating speed of 200MHz), or pc1600 DDR-SDRAM, all the way to current rates of 200mhz DDR (with operating speed of 400MHz), or pc3200 DDR-SDRAM. Some memory manufactures produce even faster DDR-SDRAM memory modules which readily appeal to the overclocker crowd.

DDR-SDRAM 2 (DDR2)

The latest DDR-SDRAM technology to hit the market for PC’s has become known simply as DDR-SDRAM 2 or DDR2. It features several advantages over conventional DDR-SDRAM (DDR), with the main one being that in each memory cycle DDR2 now transmits for 4 bits of information from logical (internal) memory to the I/O buffers. standard DDR-SDRAM only transmits 2 bits of information each memory cycle. Because of this, normal DDR-SDRAM requires the internal memory and I/O buffers to both operate at 200MHz to reach a total external operating speed of 400MHz. Due to DDR2’s ability to transmit twice as many bits per cycle from logical (internal) memory to the I/O buffers (this technology is formally known as 4 bit prefetch), the internal memory speed can actually run at 100MHz instead of 200MHz, and the total external operating speed will still be 400MHz. Mainly what all this comes down to is that DDR-SDRAM 2 will be able to operate at higher total operating frequencies thanks to its 4 bit prefetch technology (e.g. a 200mhz internal memory speed would yield a total external operating speed of 800mhz!) than DDR-SDRAM. Currently, this is the memory standard on most new motherboards.

Motherboard - Intel D5400XS Skulltrail Hand

One glance at the Intel D5400XS motherboard with its dual-CPU sockets and active chipset cooling is enough to tell you that this isn't your normal PC motherboard. Code named Skulltrail, the Intel D5400XS represents Intel's ultimate PC motherboard platform. Regular motherboards only have a single CPU socket, two PCI Express slots, and support for only one of the two competing dual-GPU formats. In comparison, the Skulltrail has two processor sockets, four x16 PCI Express video card slots, and built-in support for both SLI and CrossFire. If you set two Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9775 processors in the board, you have an 8-core monster ready to run.

The Skulltrail code name follows the pirate-naming theme started with the "Bonetrail" code name for Intel's X38 motherboard. Intel was able to supercharge the board by making a couple of aggressive design decisions. Engineers built the board around the Intel 5400 workstation chipset instead of using its standard X38 or P35 desktop chipset. The chipset choice gives Skulltrail advanced features not available on normal desktop motherboards, such as dual-CPU support, but it also brings new requirements, including a new CPU socket, LGA771, and DDR2 FBDIMM memory. We aren't thrilled with the FBDIMM requirement, but the modules aren't too difficult to find and don't cost much more than unbuffered DIMMS.

The board will work with the new Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9775 processor, as well as LGA771 Xeon processors. It won't be able to handle the more common LGA775 processors, such as the Core 2 Quads or Core 2 Duos, but the motherboard's limited CPU compatibility illustrates Skulltrail's elite status in Intel's product lineup. The motherboard's primary CPU option, the quad-core 3.2GHz QX9775 is more powerful than any LGA775 chip currently available. Intel hasn't announced any future Skulltrail-compatible processors besides the QX9775 and does not guarantee future compatibility with its upcoming "Nehalem" processors.

On the graphics side, the Intel D5400XS features four PCI Express x16 card slots and can handle both SLI and CrossFire. Support for the competing dual-video card standards from Nvidia and AMD are usually mutually exclusive on PC motherboards. If the motherboard supports CrossFire, it won't support SLI and vice versa. Intel boards commonly support CrossFire, but designers were able to drop a pair of Nvidia nForce 100 chips into the board to add two-way SLI support.

The Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9775 doesn't have much competition at the top. We benchmarked two QX9775 processors against a single chip to see the performance difference between eight and four cores. The LGS771 socket limitation prevented us from dropping a dual-core into the Skulltrail, so we had to run our Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 in an LGA775 motherboard for our dual-core performance comparison. We selected a handful of multithreaded games and synthetic benchmarks including 3DMark06, Valve Particle Test, Unreal Tournament 3, Lost Planet, and Crysis. We also set up an ASUS P5K motherboard and a EVGA 780i to see how the Skulltrail's CrossFire and SLI performance compares to dedicated motherboards.

But it take time to translate the language to chinese and fixing the bug. many new skill is updated and the most focusing of this innovation project was on Taitan. at the below u can see the loading is change.beside that, many function also been add into this game.
